PhD Dissertation Final Oral Defense (October 2024)
Title of dissertation: Doxorubicin Release and Uptake from Trastuzumab and Folic Acid Liposomes with Ultrasound
Abstract: Site-specific delivery of chemotherapeutics using actively targeted-stimuli-responsive liposomes is a promising approach to enhance the therapeutic efficiency of anti-cancer drugs while reducing the associated undesirable side effects. This study proposes mixing liposomes decorated with different ligands, namely folate and herceptin, to treat breast cancer; in addition, low-frequency and high-frequency ultrasound will be investigated as a triggering mechanism.
