College of Engineering holds Advisory Board Council meeting
The College of Engineering (CEN) convened its annual Advisory Board Council meeting recently in Dubai. The meeting provided an excellent opportunity for the faculty, alumni and advisory board members - from both industry and government sectors - to interact.
The meeting began with brief presentations of selected student projects from each department showcasing the university's award-wining student achievements. Subsequently, individual department meetings were held to discuss each program and its stated objectives, the relevant curricular enhancements, its sensitivity to industrial trends and needs as well as to explore venues for collaborative research and development. The members of the advisory board provided a very positive feedback on the quality and skill sets of the college's students.
"This meeting of industry and business professionals, AUS alumni and current AUS students is an event that offers the unique opportunity to solicit feedback on our curriculum, outreach activities and research thrusts. This is why we insist that industry, business and government stakeholders be closely involved in the advancement of our graduate and undergraduate programs," said Dr. Leland Blank, Dean of the CEN.
