Get Active for Education | American University of Sharjah

AUS Alumni & Corporate Sports Challenge 2022

The AUS Alumni and Corporate Sports Challenge is an opportunity to get active while making an impact on the next generation of AUS students.

As we celebrate the 25th anniversary of American University of Sharjah, we've set a goal to provide the equivalent of 25 scholarships for 25 full-time AUS students via the Silver Jubilee Scholarship Fund.

From April 10 to 25, AUS alumni and corporate partners are invited to help us reach this ambitious goal by participating in a range of fun sports challenges for individuals and teams.

Read on for more details about how to get involved, how to register and how your contribution will make a difference.

Why Get Active for Education?

As AUS celebrates its Silver Jubilee this year, the Office of Advancement and Alumni Affairs is spearheading the #25for25 initiative, which aims to raise the equivalent of 25 scholarships for 25 AUS students

All funds raised through your participation in the AUS Alumni and Corporate Sports Challenge will be directed to the AUS Silver Jubilee Scholarship fund—an unrestricted non-endowment fund that will be used to address the critical needs of our students. The students who benefit from this fund will be selected for their good academic standing and demonstrated financial need as determined by the university’s financial grants and scholarships review process.

Keep reading to learn how scholarships and financial grants have significantly impacted other #Proud_AUSers over the years.

Ibrahim Ibrahim

Bachelor of Architecture | College of Architecture, Art and Design

“Studying architecture at AUS has proven to be the most challenging years of my life. However, passion, persistence and a scholarship were my turning point at AUS, and remembering how much of a blessing it was to get educated has been so important. The gift of scholarships encouraged me to work hard and to never settle for mediocrity.”

Mirza Mohammad Farooq

Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering | College of Engineering

"I am delighted to have received an endowed scholarship towards my tuition for my sophomore year at AUS. I aim to study/research/work in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning in the future. With this in mind, I am putting my best efforts in learning and assimilating all that is taught. As for my parents, they have limited financial resources and could not have possibly afforded to sponsor the entire tuition fee. I genuinely needed this additional sponsorship. I am grateful for being the recipient of it. Thank you."
