Overseeing the academic side of quality assurance (QA) and continuous program assessment and improvement for all academic programs at AUS. Ensuring academic program level compliance with academic QA ministry stipulations and international academic standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensuring compliance with academic quality assurance standards and stipulations from the UAE Ministry of Education .
- Ensuring that academic programs align with and consistently meet the standards of international accrediting bodies (such as ABET, NAAB, AACSB, Middle States Commission on Higher Education, etc.).
- Developing, maintaining and implementing appropriate institutional strategies, policies and practices related to the continuous assessment and improvement of all academic programs.
- Ensuring the institutional QA manual is regularly updated to reflect all QA policies and practices.
- Serving as an institutional contact point for all academic program leads on the issue of program assessment.
- Collaborating with various campus stakeholders to collect, analyze, and report data related to all academic program assessment activities.
- Use results from academic program assessment activities to identify areas for improvement, make actionable recommendations, and ensure academic programs are implementing critical changes needed for quality improvements.
- Maintaining centralized record keeping of academic program assessment activities.
- Supervising, mentoring, and contributing to the professional development of QA and Accreditation staff.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Minimum of 5 years of managerial/supervisory experience or a combination of experience and education.
- Familiarity with national and international accreditation standards and experience
- Ability to work with a range of stakeholders across the institution, including all program leads, on matters related to program assessment.
- Ability to keep up-to-date on all Ministry of Education standards and stipulations and international accreditation standards and to adhere to strict deadlines regarding accreditation.
- A propensity to keep up-to-date and be familiar with international best practices on academic program assessment.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Master's or PhD degree in related field
- Background in higher education or regulatory compliance
- Experience with assessment, academic program review, and/or program design
- Teaching experience in a higher education institute
