A Talk by Thomas Rhoden (November 2013)
The AUS Department of English and the Sharjah International Book Fair present a talk by Thomas Rhoden
Fiction and non-fiction author Thomas F. Rhoden's work has included travel guidebooks, language reference guides, and an epistolary account of the plight of refugees on the Thai-Burma border, as well as the occasional short story or longer piece in literary fiction.
He is currently studying a PhD in political science with a focus on contemporary issues in Myanmar and Thailand facilitated by the Center of Southeast Asian Studies and the Center for Burma Studies at Northern Illinois University. He has over a decade of experience living, working, and studying in Southeast Asia and is speaker of Burmese and Thai.
His most recent book will be a more light-hearted city guidebook for Yangon, Myanmar (Rangoon, Burma), published by Other Places Publishing and available for purchase in Fall 2013.
