20th International Symposium on Electronic Art (November 2014)
Opening Reception: November 1, 2014 at 4:00 p.m.
Exhibition: November 1-8, 2014
ISEA is one of the world's most important academic new media-arts events for the interdisciplinary discussion and showcase of creative productions applying new technologies in interactive and digital media. It is an event that annually brings together leading and emerging new media thinkers and practitioners, artists, academics, scientists working at the intersection of art, science and technology. The symposium involves a four-day conference, with four keynote speakers, multiple exhibitions and workshops. This year, under the theme of LOCATION, ISEA2014 is situated in multiple locations in the Emirates--including AUS--with Dubai being the host city. The event will help to foster exchange among culturally diverse organizations and individuals working in these various fields.
Accompanying exhibitions will showcase more than 100 works of art that thrive on technology and innovation. Installations, sculptures, videos, photographs and many other forms of art utilizing the latest developments in technical equipment, science, and mechanics will be featured. Artists from all over the world submitted proposals that were reviewed and selected for presentation. These varied works will not only showcase the technological advances of humankind, it will also examine and explore its humanity.
