Ensemble Donaïres (May 2015)
The Cultural Events Committee presents Ensemble Donaires in Vaya De Fiestas.

Vaya de Fiestas presents an evening of early Spanish dance and music. This program is based on historical, musical and choreographic research. combing with a free and personal viewpoint, and certain contemporary elements go side by side with those from the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and the Baroque period, all highlighting the Spanish inspiration.
The choreographies are by Ana Yepes based on certain treatises on dance of that time: Arbeau (1596) in France, Carroso (1582) and Negri (1602) in Italy, as well as Jaque (XVIIth century), and Esquivel de Navarro (1642) in Spain. The musical transcriptions and arrangements are the fruit of research work carried out by Ignacio Yepes and Gerardo Arriaga.
