Foundations of Machine Learning in Stellar Spectroscopy (December 2024)
Foundations of Machine Learning in Stellar Spectroscopy
About the Workshop:
A hands-on workshop that introduces the basics of applying Machine Learning (ML) techniques to spectra of stars. The workshop will provide a comprehensive overview of the different ML applications, from early techniques through to The Payne method which is the state of the art method in the field. Participants will learn to reproduce recently published results that used ML techniques for astronomical stellar spectra and be equipped with the knowledge needed to start their own research projects in the field.
