Innovative projects by CEN students unveiled at 20th Annual Engineering Senior Design Project Competition
Around 20 senior engineering capstone projects from the College of Engineering (CEN) at American University of Sharjah (AUS) competed for top honors at the 20th Annual Engineer Senior Design Project Competition held virtually on May 8.
Organized every year by CEN, the competition encourages students to adopt innovative, sustainable, and entrepreneurial approaches in their capstone design projects. Participating students presented their work via video before their peers, CEN faculty, and judging panels that comprised CEN alumni and industry experts.
Speaking about the event, Dr. Sirin Tekinay, Dean of CEN, said:
“I am delighted to uphold this time-honored tradition despite the current circumstances. True to engineering spirit, our students have demonstrated they are resilient and innovative. In the year 2020, and we are celebrating the 20thedition of this competition, we called it 'The Pride of CEN'. I am indeed enormously proud of what our students have produced now that we have hosted CEN alumni and experts from the industry to review the projects and announce the winners.”
