Students complete training in event photography
Thirty-nine American University of Sharjah (AUS) students completed a training session in event photography held by the Office of Student Affairs' Student Employment Office November 21-28, 2011. The session covered important aspects and various techniques in shooting photos during an event. The students also received hands-on training during the AUS Charity Mini-Marathon Festival, where they were given the opportunity to practice learned skills and take photographs of the event.
The training was conducted by Dr. Harris Breslow, Associate Professor in Mass Communication at AUS, who is known for using inspirational methods in teaching apart from his qualifications and experiences. The training is part of the Student Employment Office's Self-Improvement Training Series.
"The Self-Improvement Training Series is intended for students who aspire to work as student employees at the university. It is our aim to equip students with the requisite skills to make them competitive and productive in the workplace," said Dr. Moza Al Shehhi, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. "There is a big demand from students to conduct training sessions on various topics of interest and our Student Employment Office is working in collaboration with volunteer faculty members to fulfill this demand," she added.
