Students from around the UAE participate in the Fifth AUS High School Computing Camp
High school students from 10 schools around the country took part in the Fifth American University of Sharjah (AUS) High School Computing Camp, where they learned about engineering and innovation.
During the five-day event, students had the opportunity to attend theoretical sessions and labs that covered the areas of digital systems design, programming, web development, mobile application development, smart home development, and robotics building and programming.
"The camp allowed the students to have hands-on experience in different technical fields as well as develop their soft skills such as team work, communication and many others," said Dr. Fadi Aloul, Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at AUS.
He added: "Students were taught by AUS instructors in labs on campus. The camp provided them with an insight into the world of engineering and computer design and helped them decide if this was a field they wanted to join and pursue their education in when they move on to university.”
