AUS holds a successful Charity Mini Marathon Festival
Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qassimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah and President of American University of Sharjah (AUS), the Community Services division of the Office of Student Affairs in association with the Sharjah Sports Council held the Charity Mini-Marathon on Saturday, November 24, 2012 with the theme "traffic accident prevention."
The charity run attracted more than 1,200 students from universities, schools and clubs in Sharjah as well as members of the AUS community. Participants in the race were categorized according to their age groups and ran the distance of up to four kilometers starting from the University City Maliha Gate leading to the finish line at the main AUS roundabout.
Dr. Mozal Al Shehhi, AUS Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs express satisfaction over the success of the mini-marathon this year which strengthens the university's initiative to contribute in spreading traffic awareness. She congratulated the winners and thanked the organizing committee and the universities, schools and clubs which participated in the success of the event.

The event which was organized by Community Services division of the Office of Student Affairs, in association with Sharjah Sports Council, was attended by Ahmed Al Fardan, Secretary General of the Sharjah Sports Council, Dr. Peter Heath, AUS Chancellor and Salem Yousef Al Qaseer, AUS Vice Chancellor for Public Affairs.
