The lecture will be presented by Professor Christian Fischer, Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA) & Cotsen Institute of Archaeology, UCLA-Getty master's program in archaeological and ethnographic conservation.
By combining new portable technology deployable in the field of archaeological and cultural materials, and more specifically, in the scientific analysis of ancient materials and their alterations, Dr. Fischer will discuss these relationships and the challenges posed by the analysis of archaeological materials with examples from the old and the new world.
