AUS Spring 2013 Choral Concert (May 2013)
Mozart, Bollywood, Arabic and Brazilian music will be performed by the AUS Choral Ensemble (MUS 151/251), Nassim Al Saba Choir, Nassim Al Saba Tarab and the SAMA Barbershop Quartet - including special guest artists.
The AUS Choral Ensemble is the introductory-level choir that performs Western and Arabic four-part music. The Nassim Al Saba Choir is the advanced choir, and it performs only Arabic four-part music. Nassim Al Saba Tarab is an instrumental takt associated with the Arabic choir, but is also a separate instrumental ensemble. SAMA, which takes its name from the first letters of its members' names, is a barbershop quartet comprising four male singers who sing in four different parts.
Tickets will be on sale two weeks before the event at Arts 101 from 2 to 5 p.m. on weekdays. Seating is limited.
