Mohammed Alhuraimel Alshamsi
Mr. Mohammed Alhuraimel Alshamsi is an accomplished investment professional with over 20 years of experience. He currently serves on the boards of the Emirates Growth Fund and AHI Investments. He recently completed a 13-year tenure at Mubadala Investment Company, where he last held the position of Head of the United Kingdom Investment Programme, managing the deployment of £10 billion across priority sectors, including life sciences, technology, energy transition and infrastructure.
Throughout his career at Mubadala, Mr. Alshamsi held senior leadership roles, including Director of Utilities Investments, overseeing a $2 billion portfolio across global power generation, water and district cooling assets. His experience includes launching a greenfield venture in China, restructuring a major cooling services provider in the GCC and serving as interim CEO of a gold mining operation in Colombia.
Mr. Alshamsi has served on the boards of numerous organizations, including Energias do Portugal (Portugal), Tabreed – National Central Cooling PSJC (UAE), the London Array Wind Farm (UK), Shariket Kahraba Hadjret-En-Nous (Algeria), SMN Power Holding (Oman) and Jiangsu Suyadi (China). Prior to Mubadala, he was the Director of Strategy and Policy at the UAE Prime Minister’s Office, where he contributed to the UAE Vision 2021 and the Federal Government Strategy. His earlier experience includes roles at McKinsey & Company, Dubai International Capital and General Motors.
Mr. Alshamsi holds an MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School, an MBA from HEC Paris and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration–Finance from American University of Sharjah.
