CEN student addresses Tech Forum held at Dtec
A computer science major from the College of Engineering (CEN) at American University of Sharjah (AUS) was one of the guest speakers at the 27th Tech Forum held at Dtec by Silicon Oasis in Dubai. The topic of the forum was "Artificial Intelligence and its Impact on Dubai and its Economy."
Muhammad Yaseen, a Junior II in the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science program and a co-founder of an Artificial Intelligence (A.I)-based startup, spoke about A.I, the misconceptions surrounding it, as well as its impact in the region. Yaseen also briefed the audience about the education system and how it is adapting to changes in the industry, giving the example of AUS and the way it keeps abreast of industry trends. He said the university provides the latest training to its students, ensuring that they successfully tackle all challenges when they graduate and make their way into workplace.
Yaseen, who is one of the Ambassadors to the Dean of College of Engineering at the Association of Corporate Engineers (ACE), uses his startup experience to help guide other students at CEN.
The event was addressed by a number of other speakers, including Rami Sarieddine, Microsoft’s Senior Technical Evangelist for Cloud; and Dr. Sanjay Modak of the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).
