We aim to inspire the intellectual and creative potential of our students and to encourage them to conceptualize, reflect and act.
It is the mission of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) to provide our students with an intellectual, cultural and scientific foundation for academic and professional education. We also equip our students with the mental and academic tools needed to become independent thinkers. Our outstanding multinational faculty holds degrees from some of the finest universities in the world and is committed to producing graduates that are fast becoming the envy of other regional institutions. One of the reasons for our success is the great emphasis we place on developing the curricula we teach.
We offer a wide range of programs such as English language and literature, international studies, mass communication, biology, chemistry, environmental sciences, mathematics, English/Arabic/English translation and interpreting, and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. Within these programs, we offer an even greater diversity of courses. These include: Arabic, biology, chemistry, cultural studies, education, English, environmental sciences, geography, history, international studies, linguistics, literature, mass communication, mathematics, philosophy, physics, political science, psychology, sociology, statistics, translation, women's studies and writing studies.
We are committed to preparing our students to:
- master written and oral expression in English
- master quantitative reasoning, scientific inquiry and method
- develop the critical ability to analyze and synthesize data and information
- examine the many varied aspects of Islamic, Western and other cultures
- build an understanding of moral and ethical dimensions.
We truly believe that these skills and knowledge are the foundation for individual and collective lifelong decision making. Our graduates have a proven track record of finding employment in some of the biggest corporate names in the region, and in governmental and non-governmental international agencies. They have also pursued further education in some of the most prestigious academic institutions in North America, Europe and beyond.
