The Office of Financial Grants & Scholarships (OFGS) is responsible for processing all student financial grant and scholarship applications, both for new and enrolled students. The Administrative Assistant provides support to the department by responding to a high volume of inquiries regarding merit scholarships, financial grants, and all other grants and scholarships. The position also provides office support to ensure operational effectiveness.
Job Responsibilities
- Respond to a high volume of in-person, email, and telephone inquiries regarding Merit-Based Scholarships, Financial Grants, Family Tuition Grants, and other AUS scholarships.
- Counsel students on all matters directly related to their Merit Scholarship, financial grants, and other scholarships.
- Support and attend Open Days, Exhibitions, and school visits.
- Manage the office reception, serving as the first point of contact, welcoming guests, and handling and triaging inquiries.
- Manage the complete online filing system.
- Serve as the IT liaison for OFGS, ensuring effective updating and maintenance of the department's online Pulse application system.
- Assist in managing the Work-Study program.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Financial Grants and Scholarships.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Arabic (bilingual).
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and maintain a professional demeanor.
- Strong organizational, administrative, and time management skills.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Flexible, detail-oriented, proactive, pleasant, trustworthy, and diligent.
- Ability to work well under pressure and remain flexible in work schedule and assignments.
- Ability to function independently and as part of a small team.
