Dr. Ahmad Al-Issa holds a Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Linguistics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. His areas of research include: Sociolinguistics, intercultural communication (verbal and nonverbal), language and identity, global English, pragmatics, language planning and language policy. He is a member of many international organizations and a recipient of several international research grants. He has published many articles and book chapters, and presented papers and workshops in many parts of the world.
