Research areas

My research encompasses a range of topics, including computational and experimental engineering aspects with application to clean energy conversion, turbulent reacting flow and combustion, non-reacting transitional flows, renewable (wind) energies, low-carbon fuels, as well as composites materials.

Dr. Ahmed Abdelrahman Ahmed

Ahmed I. Abd El-Rahman earned his M.S. and Ph.D. in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign under the mentorship of the Alexander D. Rankin Professor, Charles Tucker III. He has recently completed his Fulbright scholarship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Cambridge, MA), where he joined the Reacting Gas Dynamics Laboratory of the Ronald C. Crane Professor, Ahmed Ghoniem. He has also joined outstanding CNRS labs in Poitiers and Orleans (ICARE), France as a visiting professor.
