Bassam Abu Al-Foul's fields of specialization are in the areas of international economics, development economics, natural resources and quantitative analysis. His current research focuses mainly on the MENA region, particularly Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco. He is also interested in extending his research to cover North Africa and the Arabian Gulf. His research has been published in internationally refereed journals.
