Prior to AUS, Farid Abed taught in the area of structures at Bradley University and Louisiana State University. He has more than five years of experience working as a civil engineer in Baghdad and Dubai. His areas of research and teaching interests are computational solid and structural mechanics, advanced structural analysis, advanced mechanics of materials, nonlinear finite element analysis, theory of elasticity and plasticity, damage mechanics and composite materials.
