Ms. Isabela Marchi Tavares De Melo

Assistant Professor

Isabela Tavares de Melo is a costume designer and illustrator. Her research interests include costume and fashion design, dress and textile history, theatre history and stage design processes. She has previously taught at Virginia Commonwealth University, and designed costumes for theatre, dance, and film in the US and Brazil. She has also collaborated in Broadway productions such as Lucky Guy'and Amazing Grace; in' the US television series Turn'and Mercy Street; and in the feature films Macbeth: Unhinged, presented at Edinburgh International Film Festival in 2016, and Loving, nominated for several film awards and winner of the 2017 Critic's Choice Award for Best Motion Picture.
