Nikolai Mukhin

Nikolai is an Assistant Professor in Political Science at the Department of International Studies, College of Arts and Sciences, American University of Sharjah, UAE. He completed his doctorate at the University of Hong Kong in 2022. Before joining AUS, he held teaching and research positions in Hong Kong, Russia, and the United States. His research interests include comparative authoritarianism, leadership succession, communism and post-communism, and informal politics. Nikolai obtained my BA and MA in Oriental Studies at the Moscow State University, focusing on Chinese history and politics.
