TheDuello (October 2016)
In the world of music, there are no borders--only your imagination! Enjoy an evening of classical music with a modern twist brought to you by TheDuello, an international music duo of Spanish violinist Niko Managazze and Polish pianist Magdalena Wajdzik.
Managazze has been highlighted as a promising violinist since the tender age of 6. Born into a musical household where his grandparents and parents are accomplished professional musicians, his gift with the violin was nurtured, and he has blazed success in his musical mastery by consistently clinching the top spot in international competitions. His talents do not end at his virtuosity on the violin; his musical insight and knowledge are further acknowledged by the major arts and cultural institutions, inviting him to conduct guest lectures and master classes at significant music festivals and specialized camps.
Wajdzik was born in Wroclaw, Poland, in 1985. She studied at the Nowowiejski Music Academy in Poland, Birmingham Conservatoire in the UK and Liszt Academy of Music in Hungary. She has been a recipient of many awards and scholarships; Joseph Weingarten Scholarship sponsored her studies in Hungary for two consecutive years.
Tickets may be purchased at the Cashier's Office (AUS Main Building) from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily, or at the door before the concert.
