CEN Lecture Series | Using Engineering Techniques to Push the Boundaries of the Possible (March 2023)
From the invention of the wheel to the modern-day space exploration, engineers have used their creativity and knowledge to push the limits of what was once thought possible. In his talk, Dr. Slim Saidi, Visiting Associate Professor of Industrial Engineering at AUS, will explore how engineering techniques are taking us into a new era of possibilities, where humans are augmented with advanced technologies, and virtual worlds are merging with the physical one. The talk will also examine the latest innovations in human augmentation and associated challenges, such as brain-computer interfaces, exoskeletons, and implantable devices, and how they are enhancing human capabilities, extending life expectancy, and improving quality of life.
Join us to discover how human augmentation and the metaverse are using engineering techniques to push the boundaries of the possible and inspire us to think creatively and innovate in our own fields.
Host: Dr. Vian Ahmed, Department of Industrial Engineering
