Academic Integrity and Online Assessments (September 2020)
One of the many challenges of delivering online courses is ensuring academic integrity values are adhered to by both the students and the instructors. Their maintenance is of uttermost importance to ensure that the quality of education is not compromised as the academic institution reputation is at stake. In teaching courses, the instructors need to deliver the material in the clearest, most efficient manner. In addition, they need to assess the students objectively and fairly. On the other hand, the students need to be respectful, trustworthy, and responsible by upholding the integrity code, and avoid all forms of cheating.
This webinar will discuss the importance of academic integrity from different points-of-view. Moreover, it will give insight on some research that compares academic integrity in online versus face-to-face (F2F) classes. Furthermore, it will provide some guidelines on how to create assessment material online to help prevent academic dishonesty.
