Al Shola Private School students complete English preparatory course at AUS
Students from Al Shola Private School completed a TOEFL/iBT preparation course held at American University of Sharjah (AUS) as part of the agreed services the university provides to the school through the Sharakah partnership which was signed earlier this year between the two institutions.
The Achievement Academy Outreach Program at AUS offered TOEFL/iBT preparation course to 65 female and male students from Al Shola Private School. The students completed 40 hours of instruction over seven weeks. The course is designed to prepare students to succeed in TOEFL and to provide them the opportunity to prepare for university academic life.
AUS signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Al Shola School on January 26, 2012 under the Sharakah program. The agreement is part of the larger Sharakah program, an AUS strategic initiative in collaboration with selected schools from across the United Arab Emirates.
AUS has signed Memorandums of Understanding with 12 secondary schools in the UAE under the Sharakah program whereby AUS will offer workshops to teachers and students; offer patronage of selected research, cultural, social and sporting activities and events organized by the Sharakah partner school; award partial scholarships to deserving students selected from lists provided by the schools; and offer university preparation courses, including TOEFL preparation courses, as well as recruitment of outstanding students from varied sociocultural and economic backgrounds to AUS.
