AUS and SEWA renew MOU to drive sustainable innovation in utility services
American University of Sharjah (AUS) and Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) have renewed their Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to further enhance collaboration across research, training and professional development initiatives. The renewed agreement, coordinated by SEWA’s Research and Studies Department, will see both institutions combining their expertise to advance various projects, including joint research in energy conservation, water network technologies, desalination, reduction of non-revenue losses, environmental sustainability, climate change, engineering management and the use of advanced technology and artificial intelligence in utility operations. It also encompasses power system design, business process management, protection system analysis, cybersecurity, system automation, logistics management, evaluation of new industrial products and remote sensing, while supporting student internships, academic projects and long-term initiatives that leverage SEWA data and provide access to AUS research facilities and pilot testing opportunities.
