AUS and Transport Authority-Ajman Government sign Memorandum of Understanding
American University of Sharjah (AUS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) recently with the Transport Authority-Ajman Government to provide a framework of cooperation and facilitate collaboration between the two entities.
The signing ceremony, which was held virtually, was attended by senior officials from both organizations, including Professor Kevin Mitchell, Chancellor of AUS, and His Excellency Omar Mohammed Rashid Lootah, Director-General of the Ajman Transport Authority.
Speaking on the occasion, Chancellor Mitchell said:
“AUS is pleased to collaborate with the Transport Authority-Ajman Government to develop initiatives that will contribute to advancing knowledge. The university is committed to working with partners to make productive connections between government entities and academia.”
The agreement highlights several areas in which the two organizations will cooperate, including development of human capital performance and provision of customized programs that adopt best practices, knowledge dissemination, expertise exchange and field visits.
Speaking about the agreement, His Excellency Lootah said: “Upgrading the services provided by the Transport Authority to the people of the Emirate of Ajman is what always motivates us to establish partnerships that achieve the level we aspire to, which is what we expect from our cooperation with American University of Sharjah to contribute in raising the performance of national competencies by following best practices through specialized programs and strengthening cooperation in various fields."
