AUS faculty member shortlisted for Sheikh Zayed Book Award
Dr. Boutheina Khaldi, Associate Professor in Arabic and Translation Studies, was shortlisted for the Sheikh Zayed Book Award (SZBA) for her recent book entitled The Implicit in Arab Women's Epistolary Writing.
Dr. Khaldi is one of the 11 young authors announced recently in the SZBA list for the coveted Young Author Prize. The shortlisted authors were selected from 335 nominations received from across 18 countries, including UAE, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan.
The Sheikh Zayed Book Award is one of the most prestigious and well-funded prizes in the Arab World. It is presented yearly to Arab writers, intellectuals, publishers as well as young talent whose writings and translations of humanities have scholarly and objectively enriched Arab cultural, literary and social life.
