AUS holds a delightful evening of music by the Moscow Chamber Duet
American University of Sharjah (AUS) held an evening of classical music presented by the Moscow Chamber Duet. The concert, which took place yesterday, October 18, at the AUS Main Auditorium, included the works of Bach, Schubert, Beethoven, Schumann, Rachmaninov, Brahms, Sarasate and Piazolla, performed by violoncellist Oleg Bugaev and pianist Dzhafarova Elmira.
Oleg Bugaev is an accomplished and celebrated musician and recognized as one of the most exciting violoncellists of his generation. He is a laureate of international music competitions, winner of a special prize at the XIII Tchaikovsky competition, and leading soloist of the Philharmonic Concert Association "Moskontsert".
Dzhafarova Elmira graduated from the Ural State Conservatory in 2000. She then pursued graduate work at the Russian Academy of Music after which she continued to refine her skills, studying with masters that included V.K. Merzhanov, V.M. Tropp, A.G. Skavronsky and O.M. Yablonsky.
The concert was organized by the Cultural Events Committee and the Russian Cultural Club at AUS.
