AUS professor appointed as Chair holder of The Said T. Khoury Chair of Leadership Studies
Dr. Virginia Bodolica, a faculty member from the School of Business Administration (SBA) at American University of Sharjah (AUS) has been recently appointed as the chair holder of The Said T. Khoury Chair of Leadership Studies. During the first weeks in her new position, Dr. Bodolica, Professor of Management, started conceiving a set of activities that would be conducted by the chair in the next few years.
Congratulating both the donor and the chair holder, Dr. Juan Sanchez, Provost and Chief Academic Officer, said:
“Professor Bodolica is known for her passion to education and research in business leadership, which will stand her in good stead as she leads the process of setting guidelines and priorities for the important work she envisions for the chair in today’s constantly evolving business world.”Samer Khoury, President of Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC), whose family established the chair in 2011, welcomed Dr. Bodolica and wished her success in her mission.
Also, commenting on the appointment, Charles A. Diab, Executive Director of the Office of Advancement and Alumni Affairs, said:
“I am very delighted with the appointment of Dr. Bodolica to the Chair and I look forward to observing our faculty’s exceptional talent and the breadth of solutions and services they offer, to artfully blend the chair’s key values promoted by the donor to successfully achieve a desired outcome.”
Speaking about her appointment, Dr. Bodolica said:
“The donor of the chair, the Khoury family, is an active promoter of inclusiveness, diversity and youth engagement and empowerment. At the same time, leadership is about real actions and interventions that are influenced by valuable research insights and have practical relevance. The distinctiveness of the chair is its balanced approach to theory and practice that will be materialized through a combination of scholarly endeavors and practice-focused events.”
