AUS signs MoU with Alef Group
American University of Sharjah (AUS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Alef Group, a leading real estate development company in Sharjah, yesterday April 21. The agreement states that Alef will support AUS and engage with them as partners in meaningful community initiatives.
The agreement was signed by Professor Kevin Mitchell, Chancellor of AUS, and Issa Ataya, Alef Group CEO. The partnership agreement affirmed that Alef would lend its support to AUS through initiatives that provide students with a range of skills and opportunities, support their development, and expand their vision for the future within Alef Group and its premier projects.
Commenting on the agreement, Professor Mitchell, said: “AUS is pleased to sign an agreement with Alef. We look forward to working together with an organization that is deeply committed to serving the community and supporting educational initiatives. Collaboration with partners such as Alef is essential for advancing the mission of the university and expanding the opportunities available to students.”
Ataya said, “This partnership comes as part of our commitment and dedication to contributing and supporting the youth, in line with the vision and aspirations of the late Sheikh Khalid bin Sultan Al Qasimi for encouraging, supporting, and empowering youth to identify and respond to the community.”
Ataya continued, "Alef has an integrated strategy to fulfill its role and duties towards the local community, based on its commitment to corporate social responsibility. We are keen to support the education of our youth, as they are the next generation of leaders and play a key role in the future of our society. AUS is a pillar of our community, and we are proud to support such a recognized entity through this partnership.”
