AUS wins first and third place in ASCE competitions
AUS bagged two wins at the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Competition. A hundred and thirty UAE higher education institutions competed in four engineering areas, namely Water Rocket Launching, Spaghetti Truss Bridge, Hydraulic Lifting Arm and Concrete Crushing.
AUS civil engineering student Saadiya Samreen came in first in the Water Rocket Competition while AUS civil engineering majors Mohammed Abu Samra, Nada El Samahy, and Amjad Al Hamad came in third in the Concrete Crushing Competition.
"We are very proud of the students' accomplishments. They had fun, gained experience and networked with students from other universities in the UAE. I am thankful to Noor Tello, ASCE President, and volunteers for this great event. Their efforts and dedication are highly appreciated and recognized," said Dr. Rami Hawileh, Professor of Civil Engineering.
