Belarus Ambassador visits AUS

His Excellency Roman Golovchenko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the United Arab Emirates, visited American University of Sharjah (AUS) today, January 26, and met with AUS Chancellor, Dr. Björn Kjerfve. The ambassador was accompanied by Sergei Belogortsev, Minister Counsellor-Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of the Republic of Belarus. Also present were Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi, Executive Chairman, Department of Government Relations, Government of Sharjah; and Majid Abdalla Majid Al Qasimi, Director, Department of Government Relations.

During the meeting, Dr. Kjerfve spoke about the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah, and President of AUS, for the university and his mandate for AUS to become a research university.
