CEN recognizes industry partners for strengthening internship programs
The American University of Sharjah (AUS) College of Engineering (CEN) recently hosted an Employer Appreciation Ceremony to express gratitude to 33 organizations that have been steadfast supporters of the college's internship programs, bridging the gap between academic theory and practical industry experience.
"We are immensely grateful to our employers for their ongoing support and dedication to our internship programs. The opportunities they provide our students not only enrich their educational journey but also empower them with the practical experience, real life examples, latest tools, skills and knowledge necessary for success in their future careers. The strong partnership between the AUS College of Engineering and these organizations is a testament to our shared commitment to advancing engineering education, fostering innovation in the industry and making a positive impact in the society," said Dr. Fadi Aloul, Dean of CEN.
He added: "We're truly excited to witness the ongoing expansion of our partnership with the launch of our CEN Al Nukhba program which establishes industry partnership collaborations in the areas of research, development, training programs, internships, exchange of information and personnel, joint supervision of students’ capstone projects and field trip visits. With 11 companies already onboard, this initiative is rapidly extending its industrial reach, enhancing student learning experiences and solidifying our commitment to collaborative growth."
Among the employers honored at the ceremony were ADNOC Offshore, AGMC-BMW, Amazon-FS, Aramex, Beno Technology FZ LLC, BETA IT, Dragon Oil, DU, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Dubai Police, Ecyclex, Emagine (EMGN Electrical Fittings Works LLC), Emirates Group, Emirates Metallic Industries Company Limited, Emirates National Oil Company, e&, Hikvision FZCO, Mindware FZ LLC, Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre, NAFFCO GROUP, Petrofac International UAE LLC, PWC, Remal IoT, Schneider Electric, Sharjah Airport Authority, Sharjah Coop, Sharjah Electrical and Water Authority, Sharjah Government Media Bureau, Sharjah Municipality, Sharjah National Oil Company, Sharjah Police, Starlink and Thinglogix.

All CEN undergraduate students must complete an internship as part of their degree requirements. AUS ranked number one in the category of employer reputation, second in academic reputation and third in employment outcomes in the UAE, according to QS World University Rankings (2024).
