CSE team wins honors at Smart Mobile Application Contest 2019

A team comprising students Omar Al Hammadi, Hassan Al Noman, Salman Sowdagar and Vikram Sakkia from the Department Computer Science and Engineering at American University of Sharjah (AUS), won third place at the Smart Mobile Application Contest 2019 held at Khalifa University on April 28.

The team’s project, entitled Smart Emergency Evacuation System, received honors along with King Saud University and Abu Dhabi University, which won first and second place, respectively. The AUS team competed in the final round with 17 teams from across the Gulf region and received AED 10,000 for their win.

The team was mentored by Dr. Imran Zualkernan, Professor of Computer Engineering, and Dr. Fadi Aloul, Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
