At the heart of CAS’ ethos is a commitment to fostering critical thinking, creativity and intellectual curiosity. The college’s portfolio includes nine undergraduate programs, 20 minors and five graduate programs covering a range of disciplines including biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, English, Arabic studies, communication and media, international studies and more. The college also offers a pre-med track designed to prepare students for medical college admission through its tailored program, well-positioning alumni to apply to medical colleges following the North American medical education system.
CAS’ interdisciplinary approach equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to tackle complex global challenges and succeed in various career paths. Notably, the QS Arab Region University Rankings have ranked AUS among the top 10 Arab universities every year for the past nine consecutive years (2024).

The college also actively pursues collaborations with prestigious universities and institutions locally and internationally, providing students with opportunities for academic and cultural exchange, joint research projects and international internships. For instance, the Department of International Studies offers a curriculum that spans global politics, economics and cultures, preparing students to navigate and influence an interconnected world. Through partnerships such as the ones with Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy and Balsillie School of International Affairs at Waterloo University in Canada, students are offered opportunities for knowledge exchange.
During the Academic Year 2023-2024, CAS actively fostered partnerships, facilitating connections between students and prominent companies such as Al Arabiya News, Al Khayat Investment Group and Twofour54, offering internships, full-time positions and graduate programs. It also launched the Career Explorer program, developed in collaboration with Sharjah Government Media and Club Apparel Group, providing students with valuable workshops and job shadowing opportunities across diverse industries. The college’s Department of Psychology also established informal collaborations with institutions like the Dubai Autism Center and Kids First Medical Center, providing students with opportunities for Applied Behavioral Analysis Technician training, data collection mechanisms, internships and employment prospects.
International collaborations between CAS and other universities have also opened doors for alumni to receive conditional admission offers and scholarship opportunities in medicine and various areas of study.
World-Class Faculty and Student Opportunities
The QS World University Rankings has recognized AUS for the caliber of its faculty and research, ranking AUS third in the UAE for the number of international faculty and citations per faculty. This commitment to academic excellence is exemplified within CAS by its faculty’s involvement in multidisciplinary research, spanning a wide range of disciplines, from the natural sciences to the humanities and social sciences. Students often engage with the faculty’s research projects, gaining advanced knowledge, hands-on experiences and a deeper understanding of industry needs and the job market.
Students also benefit from an array of opportunities designed to enhance their academic and professional development such as the AUS Model United Nations (AUSMUN), which provides students with a platform to engage in international diplomacy and negotiation. The college also hosts various clubs and societies, which allow students to explore their interests, develop leadership skills and build networks in preparation for the job market.
