OSA welcomes AUS freshmen for orientation week
The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) at American University of Sharjah (AUS) recently welcomed new students to the university through exciting weeklong orientation activities aimed to help them get accustomed to university life and encourage them to participate in extracurricular activities.
The activities included information sessions, distribution of orientation packets containing information about the university’s services, new student athletics orientation and tour of sports facilities, Peer Leaders adoption of new students, Judicial Affairs Code of Conduct orientation for exchange students and dorm residents, Sharjah cultural tour, Dubai city tour and an open-house in the Student Center with table games, movies, karaoke, table tennis, foosball and PS4 Football tournament.
The activities also included a Freshman Reception Dinner that was attended by Kevin Mitchell, Interim Provost; Dr. Moza Al Shehhi, Dean of Students, along with other senior OSA officials.
Addressing the students, Dr. Al Shehhi said:
“The Office of Student Affairs aims to offer you the best services, programs and activities to complement your academic education as well as enhance your student life experience here at AUS. We hope to see you as an active member of the AUS community and wish you all the best in your new academic journey.”
The theme of this year’s OSA orientation week was in line with the UAE’s theme for 2018: The Year of Zayed, marking 100 years since the birth of the founding father of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
