Sharjah Ruler issues an Emiri Decree appointing Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi as President of American University of Sharjah

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, issued Emiri Decree No. (6) of 2023 regarding the appointment of new president for American University of Sharjah (AUS).

The decree appoints Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi as President of AUS and Chair of its Board of Trustees.

Commenting on this occasion, His Highness said: "After 25 years of continuous work during my presidency of AUS, where it reached the stage of perfection with the assistance of the university’s management and board of trustees, it is time to step down from my presidency and give the opportunity to a new generation to lead the university with the help of the university chancellor and the Board of Trustees members."

On the selection of Her Excellency Sheikha Bodour, His Highness said: "I have chosen to appoint Sheikha Bodour because of her knowledge and competence to be the President of AUS, and I will not be far from her or from AUS."
