Sharjah TV staff complete course from AUS Achievement Academy Outreach Program
Thirty five employees of Sharjah Television were honored at a special graduation ceremony held at American university of Sharjah (AUS) today, May 31. The event was held to celebrate their success in completing English language courses delivered by the AUS Achievement Academy Outreach Program. The program, which consisted of 60 hours of instruction spread over a 10-week duration, comprised three levels. These included: General English Elementary, Business English (Pre-Intermediate level), and English for the Media (Intermediate level).
"I wish to offer my heartiest congratulations to the graduates on their success. We are very pleased to offer these courses to staff members of Sharjah TV. Over the years, the relationship between our two organizations has grown and developed and projects such these help to strength that bond," said Ali Shuhaimy, Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management.
Dr. Khalid Al Midfa, Director of Sharjah Television and Radio, said: "I have received wonderful feedback about the program. I would like to take this opportunity to thank AUS and especially the faculty and staff of the Achievement Academy Outreach Program for all their efforts and commitment towards making this a worthwhile experience for my colleagues graduating today."
This is the second time that the AUS Achievement Academy Outreach Program has provided such courses to staff members of Sharjah TV. The Outreach Program is committed to developing and delivering exemplary service to support the needs of the local community. Such courses help in engaging members of the community and providing them with a solid training foundation.
"It was a pleasure working with the Sharjah TV students in our Outreach Program," said Dr. Thomas Alibrandi, Director, Achievement Academy. "We found them to be serious, hardworking students with a keen sense of the value of continued education. We sincerely hope to host more classes with employees of Sharjah TV."
The event was also attended by Salem Al Qaseer, Vice Chancellor for Public Affairs; Lina Hejjawi, Manager, Outreach Program; as well as other officials from Sharjah TV.
