Successful AUS inter-dormitory sports festival held

The Spring 2019 AUS Inter-Dormitory Sports Festival was held February 3–March 9 with 475 AUS student-athletes participating. This year’s sports festival for men and women was divided into different phases followed by a grand finale and prize distribution held on March 9. The CD Men’s Dorm and EF Women’s Dorm won the Overall Championship Award at the event.

Deema Elrefai, a junior majoring in architecture, said:

“I enjoyed the sports festival. It got me out of the usual stressful working environment and made me do something fun. The variety of sports were amazing.”

Commenting on this successful event, Munketh Taha, Director of Student Development and Organization and Acting Director of the Student Athletics and Recreation Department, said:

“We are pleased with the large turnout of student-athletes participating in our sport events. With the efforts and assistance of AUS staff in organizing this festival, the sports festival was a truly remarkable event. We would like to encourage all staff members to collaborate with Student Residential Life Department in order to better enhance the services offered to AUS students.”

The event was organized by the Student Athletics and Recreation Department, in collaboration with the Student Residential Life Department.
