Sultan visits exhibition of design students’ projects
His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qassimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah and President of AUS, visited an exhibition at the College of Architecture, Art and Design, Sunday, June 10.
The exhibition, entitled 6 Degrees, featured the work of over 80 bachelor's and master's degree students from the six majors offered by the college. The five bachelor's degree programs offered are architecture, interior design, design management, multimedia design and visual communication and the master's degree program is urban planning.
"It's a really great opportunity to exhibit our work. It's also a great exposure to the outside world. I'm an architecture student and also a basketball player. I started by studying the motion of basketball players and translating that motion into a concept for a running track," said Judy Mahfouz, a senior student majoring in architecture whose work entitled Dynamic Acion .T [race]d was shown at the exhibition.
Sheikh Sultan was accompanied by members of the AUS Board of Trustees; Dr. Peter Heath, AUS Chancellor; Peter Di Sabatino, Dean of College of Architecture, Art and Design; and other senior university officials.
