Vote for AUS adjunct faculty member on Stars of Science
AUS adjunct faculty member Dr. Mohamed K. Watfa, College of Engineering, is the UAE's only remaining participant in the MBC program Stars of Science. A public vote through SMS will determine the winner of the competition in the final episode tomorrow, November 8. To vote for him, SMS the number 2 to 5141 Etisalat or 9496 Du. Out of 7,000 inventors participating in Stars of Science, Dr. Watfa has reached the top four.
Dr. Watfa's invention, called SHARED, uses only one PC and a projector to transform 15 normal wooden desks into interactive PCs. It is a patented and first-of-its-kind invention.
"Two years ago, I had a vision to change the way we teach and learn in classrooms, and I wanted that vision to include the whole world, rich or poor. My vision has become a reality," said Dr. Watfa.
He noted that with the help of experts and the financial and moral support provided through Stars of Science, he was able to develop his invention.
"I hope that the experience and knowledge I have gained will be inherited by future generations of Arab inventors from different Arab countries. I hope our students will follow our footsteps and do even better in the world of innovation," he added.
Stars of Science is shown daily on MBC4 at 4 p.m.
