Global Day 2025 (February 2025)
Global Day at AUS is a two-day event that celebrates the diverse nationalities and cultural richness of our university community, transforming the campus into a lively, immersive world tour.
The event will take place in the Main Plaza and Main Auditorium from February 14 to 15 from 5:00-10:00 PM.
Admission is free in the Main Plaza only.

- What is Global Day?

Global Day is an annual cultural event at American University of Sharjah held under the patronage of Her Excellency Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, President of American University of Sharjah (AUS). One of the largest events on campus, Global Day showcases the cultural heritage of the many nationalities represented at AUS by turning the university campus into a festival of culture and color. Event highlights include pavilions representing various countries, traditional food, music and cultural performances.

- When and where is Global Day hosted?

Global Day is held annually on the AUS campus over a two-day period. This year, the event will take place February 14–15 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on both days. Most events take place on the Main Plaza.
- What can I expect on Global Day?

As a festival of culture, Global Day celebrates the various nationalities represented at AUS. Expect to see cultural dance and song performances, country pavilions and students in their national dress/costumes.
- Is Global Day free of cost to attend?

Activities on the AUS Main Plaza are free to join. You will be able to visit the many country pavilions and watch cultural performances on the outdoor stage. However, the cultural performances in the AUS Main Auditorium are ticketed and each ticket costs AED 30.

Where can I buy a Global Day ticket to watch the performances in the AUS Main Auditorium?

Global Day tickets are available in the Student Center three days before the event. Only cash payments are accepted. The schedule of performances will be posted in front of the ticket counter so you can choose which day you would like to attend.
- The Global Day tickets were sold out and I was not able to get one. Can I still watch the cultural performances?

Some cultural performances that take place in the AUS Main Auditorium will also be performed outdoors on the Main Plaza Stage. These will be free and open for everyone to watch; however, please note that these performances may vary from the original performances held in the auditorium.

Do children need tickets to watch the performances in the AUS Main Auditorium?

Children aged 4 years and under do not need tickets.
- Can I reserve a seat in the AUS Main Auditorium?

Seats in the AUS Main Auditorium are on a first-come first-serve basis. If you have an exceptional case and need to reserve a seat, please contact [email protected].
- Where can I buy food at Global Day?

There are food outlets in the AUS Main Plaza in addition to the food outlets in the Student Center.
- What is the dress code?

Attendees are encouraged to wear their national dress/costumes, however, it is entirely optional. We kindly request that all participants dress respectfully.
- Is parking available on site?

Yes, visitors’ parking is available on site. Follow the road signs leading to Parking Area 5 and 6.
- Can persons with disabilities attend Global Day?

The AUS campus is designed to support the mobility of persons with disabilities. Contact [email protected] if access is required to the AUS Main Auditorium or for further assistance and specific requests.
- Who and where to seek help for emergencies?

You can seek help from the AUS Security Outpost located on the AUS Main Plaza or approach any security personnel or any of our staff wearing a Global Day organizer badge.
