AUS business students explore the world of fintech through Visa Case Competition
A group of AUS business students stepped into the world of consulting, analytics and fintech through a case competition hosted by Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) in partnership with the American University of Sharjah (AUS) School of Business Administration. The competition began with students working individually over the course of a month to propose solutions to a real business challenge from Visa’s global operations. Finalists were invited to Visa’s Dubai offices, where they spent the day refining their ideas with guidance from VCA mentors and presenting their work to a panel of Visa professionals.
Team Zenith, with students Dina Helmy, Aaliya Shafi, Dewansh Agrawal, Rahma Zuhair and Roaa Helal—earned first place, followed by Team Visanators, made up of Fatima Hassim, Fahad Mahmood, Farah Khanfar and Sara Afana. Finalist teams Gravitas and MindMesh also stood out with their creativity and insight. Offering expert feedback and industry exposure along with fast-track internship opportunities for juniors, the experience gave students more than just a line on their résumé—it gave them a confident first step into the world they’re preparing to lead. The initiative reflects a shared commitment between AUS and VCA to bridge academic learning with professional practice, while preparing students for impactful careers in the business and fintech sectors.
