His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qassimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah and President of American University of Sharjah (AUS) has expressed satisfaction at the progress of work undertaken at AUS.
The Ruler of Sharjah visited AUS today September 22 and met with Dr. Peter Heath, AUS Chancellor, the Provost and vice chancellors. He was briefed on the number of new students that had enrolled at AUS this semester and expressed satisfaction at the high academic standing of the incoming freshmen. Most of the 1,200 new students joining AUS this semester belong to the top 20 percent of their high school class, with their average high school scores as a group being about 92 percent. This will increase the total number of students at AUS to 5573.
Sheikh Dr. Sultan was also briefed on the progress of work pertaining to the enhancement of AUS facilities as well as new university requirements such as the need to expand the dormitory facilities as a result of increasing demand.
