Achievement Academy conducts English course for Al Zuhour school teachers
The American University of Sharjah (AUS) Achievement Academy Outreach Program conducted an English improvement course for teachers, supervisors and staff of Al Zuhour Private School in Sharjah, from February 16 to April 27. Twenty-five participants completed a 30-hour course improving their general English, vocabulary, grammar and speaking skills.
A certificate distribution ceremony was held on April 29 and was attended by Dima Al Zuhiar, Vice Principal of Al Zuhour Private School; Jessica March, Achievement Academy Director; and other senior staff members from the school and AUS. Lina Hejjawi, Senior Instructor and Outreach Manager, thanked the instructors for their efforts in teaching the participants and hoped for future collaboration with Al Zuhour Private School while Al Zuhiar congratulated the participants and appreciated their efforts and wished them further progress and success.
The course was held as part of the Sharakah program under which AUS has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a number of secondary schools in the UAE whereby the university will offer workshops to teachers and students. The partnership between AUS and Al Zuhour Private School underlines the university's commitment toward professional development.
As part of the university's community engagement strategic initiative, the Achievement Academy Outreach Program provides a wide range of opportunities for community learners.
