AUS student takes part in international leadership program
Adnan Al Sousy, a student from the College of Engineering at American University of Sharjah (AUS), recently took part in the Global Village for Future Leaders of Business and Industry held June 22–July 27 at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, in the United States. The Student Leadership Program (SLP) at AUS has been sending students to the program since 2011.
Global Village is a leadership development experience that focuses on building leadership and entrepreneurial skills through applied knowledge in real business. This intensive five-week program exposes students to a global network of more than 119 countries. It delivers its learning through interactive courses, multi-cultural learning experiences, business and organizational visits, executive round table discussions, themed panel and seminar sessions, and visits to centers of business in New York City and Washington, DC.
Speaking about his experience, Adnan Al Sousy, who is a senior majoring in industrial engineering, said:
“I went to Global Village 2019 with few expectations. Little did I know that it was going to be one of the most memorable and rewarding experiences of my life. I didn't expect that I could learn so much in such little time, while simultaneously becoming part of a small and close-knit family of people from all over the world. I am very grateful and appreciative for this wonderful opportunity.”
